Tips

How often should I bring my dog in for grooming?
A: The right grooming schedule depends on your dog’s breed, coat type, and how much they love rolling in the mud! Generally, dogs with longer or thicker coats benefit from grooming every 4-6 weeks, while shorter-haired pups might need a visit every 8-12 weeks. Regular grooming not only keeps them looking fabulous but also helps prevent skin issues and matting. Not sure what style suits your pooch best? What products do you use during grooming?
A: We’re all about using the best! Our grooming products are high-quality, natural, and hypoallergenic, perfect for all skin types—even the most sensitive ones. We also offer an Allergen Testing Service through our accredited laboratory partner to ensure we choose the safest products for your dog’s specific needs. Can I stay and watch while my dog is being groomed?
Of course, we welcome dogs bringing their humans along! However, there are certain rules we need to follow to ensure everyone’s safety, including yours, your pooch’s, and our team’s. If your dog becomes reactive or overly excitable in your presence, we may need to ask you to step out to help calm them down—especially when we’re using scissors. Your dog’s safety is our top priority, and we’ll do everything we can to make the experience smooth and stress-free.
My dog has some tangles and mats. Is that a problem?
Ideally, your dog should arrive tangle-free, but we know that life (and brambles) happen! If your dog has mats, we can take care of it with extra brushing, scissoring, and special treatments. Mats and tangles can be uncomfortable or even painful for dogs, so it’s important to address them. If your dog is prone to matting or enjoys a good tumble in the brambles, chat with our groomers about the best styles for active dogs. We also offer training sessions on how to keep your pet’s coat healthy between grooms—because a happy coat means a happy dog!
My dog has sensitive skin. Can you accommodate that?
ButtonAbsolutely! We offer specialized grooming services for dogs with sensitive skin. We use hypoallergenic products and tailor our grooming techniques to ensure your dog’s skin stays healthy and irritation-free. Just let us know about any specific needs when booking your appointment. We even offer allergy testing via out accredited lab partner, ask us for details!
Pups!

When should my puppy have their first grooming appointment?
Your puppy’s first grooming experience is a big deal! We recommend bringing them in about two weeks after they’ve completed their full course of puppy vaccinations. This timing ensures they are fully inoculated and ready for their first grooming adventure. Early grooming helps them get used to the sights, sounds, and sensations in a fun, positive way.
What does a puppy’s first grooming session include?
Our Puppy’s First Groom is all about creating a positive experience for your little one. We keep it light and fun with a gentle bath, a light brush, nail trimming, and ear cleaning. Plus, your pup gets a special certificate and a pup-acino treat to celebrate their big day. It’s the start of a beautiful grooming friendship!
How can I help my puppy get used to grooming at home?
Start with short, positive grooming sessions at home—like gently handling their paws, ears, and tail. Use lots of treats and praise to make it a fun experience. Regular brushing between professional grooms will also help your puppy feel more comfortable with the grooming process. Remember, patience and positivity are key!
Reactivity

My dog is very anxious about grooming. Can you help?
We totally get it—grooming can be stressful for some dogs. That’s why we’ve created a calming environment and use gentle techniques to help your nervous pooch feel safe and secure. We take the time to understand your dog’s unique needs and use everything from soothing music to aromatherapy to help them relax. We’re here to make grooming a positive experience, one paw at a time.
Can my reactive dog be groomed without being muzzled?
We always prioritize your dog’s comfort and safety. While we aim to avoid using muzzles, there are times when it might be necessary to keep everyone safe. We’ll discuss any concerns with you beforehand and use the gentlest approach possible. Our goal is to build trust and help your dog feel as comfortable as possible.
How do you handle dogs that don’t like being groomed?
We’ve seen it all, and we’re here to help even the most reluctant pups. We take a slow, steady approach, using lots of positive reinforcement and breaks as needed. We might start with shorter sessions to help your dog get used to the process. Over time, most dogs begin to feel more comfortable and may even start looking forward to their grooming visits!
